Fascial Therapy (FDM – Fascia Distortion Model by Dr. Stephen Typaldos)
FDM is a modern and effective method for treating musculoskeletal pain. Developed by American emergency physician Dr. Stephen Typaldos, the method is gaining popularity. Many conditions that were previously difficult to treat or slow to heal can now be improved much faster. FDM is especially successful in elite sports. In infant and child FDM therapy, cranial issues and complex musculoskeletal problems are thoroughly analyzed and specifically treated. The method combines the extensive experience of Frank Römer in pediatric osteopathy with the Fascia Distortion Model. Common problems such as KISS syndrome, colic, excessive crying, sensory processing disorders, cranial asymmetries, positional preferences, concentration issues, digestive disorders, hyperactivity, and motor or speech development delays are diagnosed and treated using the FDM model. In toddlers and children, systematic early diagnosis of postural and movement disorders, followed by holistic treatment, often leads to significant symptom relief or even healing. The aim of infant and child treatment using FDM principles is to prevent long-term consequences and developmental disorders. To achieve this, it is important to detect and correct dysfunctions early. These may be caused by family predisposition, unfavorable fetal position, medication given to the mother, accidents during pregnancy, or complications during delivery.
Visceral Therapy for Infants and Children
Visceral therapy based on Jean-Pierre Barral’s approach is a manual method that targets the internal organs, their suspensions, and connective tissue coverings. Even in infants and young children, functional disturbances in these structures can significantly impact physical balance. Even slight tension or movement restrictions in individual organs can trigger reflex chains that affect the musculoskeletal system, digestion, autonomic nervous system, or development. The aim is to restore natural organ mobility and motility. This can resolve fascial tensions affecting muscles, joints, or the nervous system, improve circulation, support organ function, and harmonize autonomic regulation. This gentle method is particularly suited to infants and children, as their bodies are highly adaptable, and early intervention is often highly effective.
Typical indications:
• Colic, bloating, reflux, or other digestive disorders
• Increased crying or restlessness without apparent cause
• Asymmetrical postures, such as cranial asymmetries or preferred positions
• Motor or vegetative developmental delays
• Lymphatic congestion, edema, or circulatory regulation disorders
Early and targeted treatment can identify and gently correct functional imbalances—supporting healthy development in the long term.
3D Scoliosis Therapy (Katharina Schroth Method)
The 3D scoliosis therapy developed by Katharina Schroth is a proven physiotherapeutic method for treating spinal curvature (scoliosis) in children and adolescents. Early identification and targeted treatment of postural issues are essential during growth phases to prevent long-term damage or secondary complaints.
Goals of therapy:
• Improve posture and body awareness
• Align the spine using targeted exercises
• Activate and strengthen core muscles
• Increase flexibility
• Reduce or prevent back pain
This method is suitable not only for adolescents with diagnosed scoliosis but also as a preventive measure for childhood postural abnormalities. The earlier scoliosis is detected and treated, the better the chance for stable and healthy spinal development—without surgery.
