Pregnancy to Postpartum

Birth Preparation with a Focus on the Pelvic Floor
My birth preparation courses emphasize awareness of the body—especially the pelvic floor. You’ll learn to perceive, activate, and relax it—skills that play a vital role during childbirth. For complaints such as back pain, pubic symphysis pain, or pelvic instability, I use adapted manual techniques, specialized relaxation methods, and personalized ergonomic guidance. Breathing techniques, body awareness, relaxation, and gentle strengthening help build confidence in the body and reduce fears. Therapy is always individually tailored to the stage of pregnancy and considers any contraindications. My goal: to prepare women for childbirth feeling strong, informed, and body-aware.

Pregnancy Massage
During pregnancy, the body undergoes deep anatomical and hormonal changes, often accompanied by physical and emotional discomfort. Common symptoms include tension, back and pelvic pain, and pressure in the abdominal area. Due to a shift in the body’s center of gravity, many women develop a pronounced arch in the lower back, which increases strain on the spine, joints, ligaments, and muscles—often causing lower back pain radiating into the legs. Early physiotherapy care can help relieve symptoms, stabilize posture, and greatly improve overall well-being during pregnancy.

Kinesio Taping for Pregnancy Complaints
Kinesio taping is an effective, drug-free method for relieving pregnancy-related complaints such as back pain, edema, pubic symphysis pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, or nausea. These elastic, breathable tapes improve circulation, support lymphatic flow, and relieve strain on muscles and joints. During pregnancy, K-taping can relieve pain, support the abdomen, or even be used to help induce labor—always tailored to your needs. It’s a gentle, everyday addition to traditional physiotherapy and ideal for holistic care before and after childbirth.

Postpartum Recovery & Rectus Diastasis

After birth, the body needs time and targeted support to regain stability. In my postpartum recovery courses, I help women gently and safely activate the pelvic floor and deep abdominal and core muscles. Based on the holistic BeBo® concept, the focus is on awareness, strengthening, and functional stabilization—with special attention to the core, healthy posture, and sustainable recovery. A common topic postpartum is rectus diastasis—separation of the abdominal muscles. I teach specific pelvic-floor-friendly exercises aimed at functional closure of the abdominal wall without putting pressure on organs or tissue. The goal is to restore core stability, relieve discomfort, and promote a renewed sense of physical confidence—individually and professionally guided.

Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation (BeBo® concept, electrostimulation & biofeedback)
The BeBo® health training approach incorporates all key elements to promote a functional pelvic floor. A healthy pelvic floor is alert, active, and elastic, operating in a balanced interplay between contraction and relaxation. The program emphasizes accessible information and easy-to-learn exercises that can be integrated into daily routines. The holistic BeBo® concept not only strengthens the pelvic floor but also nearby muscle groups—for improved body awareness and quality of life. Individual support from a compassionate physician or experienced therapist is key to successful therapy.

Complementary Therapies

Manual Lymphatic

Drainage & Bandaging Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle, relaxing therapy that helps decongest tissue. It supports lymphatic flow and has a calming, regulatory effect on the autonomic nervous system. Especially during pregnancy, postpartum, or following gynecological procedures (e.g., C-section, birth injuries, or operations), lymphatic congestion, swelling, or tension may occur—particularly in the pelvic, leg, or abdominal areas. It also provides relief for hormonal changes, varicose veins, or water retention. The treatment uses gentle, rhythmic techniques and is beneficial and safe in all life stages—without side effects. I am happy to assist your patients with targeted drainage and individualized bandaging—professionally and compassionately. Cupping Therapy Cupping is one of the oldest healing techniques. It improves circulation, supports detoxification, activates self-healing powers, relieves muscle tension and blockages, and alleviates pain. Suction created by cupping glasses stimulates deep tissue, promoting metabolism, lymph flow, and muscle relaxation. For women, cupping can provide valuable support—e.g., for hormonal imbalances, menstrual pain, lower back or pelvic tension, postpartum recovery, or gentle care during the puerperium.
Possible applications:
• Back pain or muscle tension (e.g., after pregnancy or breastfeeding)
• Menstrual irregularities, PMS, menstrual cramps
• Fatigue, sleep disturbances, hormonal imbalances
• Scar tissue or tissue congestion after C-section
• Promote postpartum recovery and regeneration
Cupping can be used in a classical form (with firm glasses) or gently (e.g., with cupping massage)—tailored to each woman’s life stage and physical condition.

Medical Flossing Therapy
Medical flossing is a modern, effective treatment method for reducing pain, improving joint mobility, and supporting lymphatic flow. A special elastic band (floss band) is wrapped around specific body areas, compressed briefly, and used in combination with movement. For women, medical flossing is especially useful after childbirth to relieve muscular tension, improve mobility after C-section or episiotomy, or treat chronic pelvic and back pain. Water retention in the legs or pelvis can also be significantly reduced through its lymphatic effect.
Typical use cases:
• Pain and tension in the lower back or pelvis
• Mobility restrictions after childbirth or surgery
• Swelling and lymphatic congestion (e.g., legs or arms)
• Support for rebuilding core muscle strength
• Stimulate circulation and metabolism
Medical flossing is short, intensive, and effective—and can be integrated into a holistic treatment approach.

Classic Massage (EMR-Recognized)
Classic massage is a well-established, holistic method for relieving muscle tension, promoting circulation, and encouraging deep relaxation. Targeted strokes release tension, reduce pain, and stimulate both metabolism and lymph flow. Particularly during pregnancy, hormonal changes, or physical strain (e.g., from breastfeeding, carrying a baby, or postural problems), classic massage offers welcome support for body and mind. It can also promote recovery after childbirth or surgery such as C-section. Typical indications:
• Neck and shoulder tension (e.g., due to breastfeeding or stress)
• Back pain during or after pregnancy
• Fatigue, inner restlessness, sleep disturbances
• Pelvic and lumbar muscle tightness
• Headaches, tension, or general discomfort
